With the "4 houses" model of association and cooperation in Japanese rice production, ensuring compliance with prescribed standards with a large scale of production area, An Giang Provincial Farmers' Association together with Angimex - Kitoku Company organized Organizing farmer households in 27 communes in the province to participate in Japanese rice cultivation, bringing high economic efficiency, initially meeting enough seed sources for the locality.

Accordingly, the Farmers' Association of 5 districts and cities: Thoai Son, Chau Phu, Chau Thanh, Phu Tan and Long Xuyen city together with the government and Farmers' Association of 27 communes within the project scope and farmer households. Currently producing Japanese rice, farmers who want to grow Japanese rice participate. The number of participating farmer households in each specific region is consistent with the province's planning, which is from 25 to 30 inter-communal production cooperative groups, with an area of 3,500 - 4,000 hectares, including 100 - 150 hectares of seed production.

 



From where farmer households registered individual production with the company, after having the project, officials of the Provincial, District and Commune Farmers' Associations closely coordinated with Angimex -Kitoku Company to survey the current situation of the organization. cooperation in 27 communes of 5 districts and farmers' needs, then held a public meeting to clearly explain the benefits of participating in cooperative groups in Japanese rice production. With that approach, from the winter-spring crop of 2008-2009 until now, there have been 40 cooperative groups with more than 1,400 members participating in production on a total area of nearly 3,900 hectares across crops. Along with that, functional branches of An Giang province organized 30 training classes on Japanese rice growing techniques for 987 members of groups, training on the content of cooperation and management contracts.

Through the implementation of Japanese rice production in An Giang, the export output of Angimex - Kitoku Company in 6 rice seasons has reached over 16 thousand 600 tons, the purchasing price is from 6,000 VND/kg (winter-spring and summer-autumn 2009). up to 8,300 VND/kg (winter-spring 2008-2009), not to mention the bonus of 300 - 500 VND/kg for rice that meets quality standards according to the contract. Farmers' profits per crop reach from 15 million - 20 million VND/hectare, with some households reaching 25 million VND/hectare. From having to import seeds for cultivation from Japan, after a period of testing, Angimex -Kitoku Company proactively coordinated with An Giang Provincial Agricultural Extension Center and good farmers to propagate rice varieties. locally, then grew from 50 hectares to more than 150 hectares, now ensuring enough seeds to supply the province's Japanese rice production area and no longer having to import as before. Through Japanese rice production seasons, farmers gradually produce according to technical processes, improving productivity and quality of rice - rice, ensuring signed contracts. The income of farmers participating in Japanese rice production increased from 1 to 1.5 times compared to farmers producing regular rice, there are 2,793 households (an increase of nearly 4 times compared to the original estimate) with an area of 3,882.5 hectares, income from 35 million to 37.5 million VND/hectare/crop and equivalent to 105 million to 112.5 million VND/hectare/year./…
